Trooper
Trooper came to us through a client of ours that found her on the side of the road. She was wrapped in a towel so at first glance she didn’t look like there was anything wrong with her. The client advised us that we should probably put her to sleep. Confused we removed the towel she was wrapped in and saw that she had open wounds spanning the length of her back. And if that wasn’t bad enough there were maggots infesting the wound. But one look at her face and we knew we had to try and save her. We bathed her and got all the maggots out of the wounds. It was very painful but she barely cried at all, which is why she got the name Trooper. We put her in a warm bed and fed her, she was pretty content to just sleep the day away. The next day we began the task of trying to get her healed up. We sprayed her wound with Granulex and Vetericyn daily to aid in the process of healing. Meanwhile she was really starting to feel better and actually starting to act like a puppy. A few weeks later she was almost all healed up and it was time to decide what we were going do with her. After considering several people we finally found the perfect home for Trooper. She still has a scar down her back and probably always will, but we, like her new owner feel that just adds to Troopers personality. She is doing absolutely wonderful and couldn’t be a happier dog!
